ISSC 2021

Have a look around on our past competition topics

Temperature sensors

Physics

Teams must make sure the readings of their sensors can be clearly displayed either electronically or mechanically.

Depending on the state of lockdown restrictions on competition-date, either an actual human body or an object within the expected human core temperature range (36°C~38°C)  will be used for measurement.

In the case that a human body is employed, a group must select a part of the human body falling within the above-mentioned core temperature range (e.g. ear canals, neck).

Solubility model

Chemistry

The use of solubility data tables with more than 10 chemicals will not be permitted.

Teams must be ready to share their employed programming language at least 2 weeks before the competition date. This is to correctly set-up timing code on the ISSC’s side.

Highlights

In the midst of the COVID-19 challenges, the 2022 International School Science Competition emerged as a testament to resilience and was held virtually. Despite the global pandemic, students worldwide engaged fervently. Chemistry's topic was to come up with a Solubility Model through programming, and physics to create a temperature sensor model—the Saigon South International School (SSIS) clinched victory.
